Once again, we will be undertaken the initiative of CPR classes for the health and well-being of our parishioners and perhaps for your own family members. You may also be aware that we have had some parishioners in need of help during Mass. We are offering a CPR class in the event that we are in the presence of someone who needs our help. The American Heart Association has long provided classes to learn to be ready for emergencies as we never know when they can occur. The need is for immediate intervention. If you wish to help someone survive a heart attack or stroke, sign up for this Adult CPR class. The class will be Saturday October 20th from 9:00am to 1:00pm in the Popes’ room. The instructors are AHA certified and your certificate is good for 2 years. The class does require standing, kneeling, and using your hands and arms for doing compressions. If you have physical limitations, this may not be the right class for you. Father Alex is supportive of this venture and wants parishioners to be prepared to help their families and each other. To assist those who want to help others, the church will pay half of the fee ($30.00) and the parishioner is asked to pay the remaining $30.00. We need at least 30-40 parishioners to sign up, preferably 6 to 8 from each regularly attended Mass time. This is in the event of need of help during Mass, we might have someone who has undergone the training to assist. Please contact: Rose Caballero @ 361-443-6556 or rosecab@ yahoo.com. to sign up or for more information.
